Accounting Assistant
Job Purpose
To support financial management and operations of the credit union through general accounting practices in accordance to GAAP and internal policy within a high paced environment.
Responsibilities
The Accounting Assistant will have the following primary responsibilities but not limited to: Posting, maintaining, and reviewing general ledger accounts; accounts payable; end of month closing procedures; inventory and maintenance of fixed assets; backup other positions in the accounting department; and other duties as needed.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business, or other related field preferred
- Two or more years of general accounting or finance experience in the banking industry
Skills
- Attention to detail;
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and improve processes effectively and efficiently;
- Organized, accountable, flexible, and able to multitask;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel and Outlook;
- Familiar with or ability to learn specialized accounting software; and
- An attitude that supports a team atmosphere.
Card Services Coordinator
Job Purpose
To administer the operational aspects of the Credit Union’s VISA Credit and Debit card programs.
Responsibilities
- Produce and review all daily or periodic reports related to debit and credit cards. Complete reconciliations of cash advances, VISA clearing and other general ledger accounts as required. Review all new credit cards for accuracy.
- Generate closed referrals/incentives promoting products and services according to Credit Union SPARK initiative standards.
- To provide friendly, prompt, professional and accurate service and support to all members and associates according to Credit Union SPARK initiative standards.
- Answer telephones, respond to written correspondence, monitor and respond to emails and telephone messages in a timely manner.
- Fraud monitoring/loss prevention – process VISA compromise notices. Utilize fraud detection systems to minimize losses. Receive and process fraud and dispute requests. Identify potential or evolving fraud situations and report them to management.
Member Consultant
Job Description
We are currently looking for a Member Consultant. This individual will be responsible for providing the highest level of service while developing and expanding relationships by referring and cross-selling VCCU products and services and demonstrating our remote access channels.
Responsibilities
The primary role of this position includes, but is not limited to:
- Opening new accounts, onboarding the accounts, and relationship building.
- Helping members with sales, service, and electronic banking channels.
- Having the ability to resolve inquiries and disputes.
This position provides the fundamentals needed for advancement within Velocity Community Federal Credit Union.
Teller
Job Description
Full-Time Teller wanted to assist members with their financial transactions. This is a high-traffic, member contact position requiring the knowledge to assist members with their financial transactions.
Responsibilities
The primary role of this position includes, but is not limited to:
- Providing personal service and accurate information while minimizing wait times.
- Answering questions, solving problems, referring beneficial Credit Union products & services, and performing a variety of miscellaneous tasks including servicing the coin machine, verifying currency shipments, handling night-drop, posting mail, computer input, and answering the telephone.
This position provides fundamentals needed for advancement within Velocity Community Federal Credit Union.
