Community is Our Middle Name!
Odds are pretty good that you will see Velocity Community Credit Union out and about in the Community. From raising money for Quantum House to sponsoring the stadium at Jupiter High School, we keep busy “keeping it local.”
Supporting The Community Through COVID-19
As we continue to navigate this global pandemic, Velocity Community Credit Union is pleased to support the surrounding community through many different avenues.
Velocity Community was able to support hundreds of our first responders and medical personnel. First, we delivered 150 Bagel Boyz breakfast sandwiches to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. Then, we delivered more Bagel Boyz breakfast sandwiches to PBG Police Department. In honor of National Nurses Week, Velocity Community delivered bundt cakes to St. Mary’s. After that, we also delivered food to the families staying at Quantum House to support their Chef For A Day program.
To adjust to the social distancing guidelines, Velocity Community took our educational opportunities virtual. Members of our staff participated in a Zoom meeting with an FBLA teacher at Independence Middle School. We joined 45 of her students to discuss how online banking is helping so many people during this pandemic. We also partnered with Scripps Research to do our first virtual seminar via Zoom on the “Ins and Outs of Car Buying.” Velocity Community was able to celebrate our youth members by taking Youth Month virtual. We created blog posts, hosted 3 educational workshops via Zoom, and included access to our promotions online.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October 2021, Velocity Community staff were thinking PINK! Every Friday our staff wore our Thinks Pink shirts to bring awareness to breast cancer. To receive the shirts, our staff donated money to Susan G. Komen South Florida Foundation. Its mission is to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.
Paint Your Heart Out Palm Beach County
On February 20, 2021, Velocity Community staff and their families woke up bright and early to “paint their hearts out!” Once a year, we volunteer as a credit union to paint a house in the community. The Solid Waste Authority picks the house and provides donated paint for the house.
Paint Your Heart Out is a nonprofit organization that relies on private contributions. The houses are chosen based on a need basis, often because the residents are aging or ill and cannot afford to maintain the homes they have lived in for many years.
This year, Velocity Community Credit Union employees and their families met in Palm Beach Gardens with masks on to give a much-needed facelift to a neighborhood home. The group painted the 1200+ square foot home under four hours!
Join us every year in helping Palm Beach Gardens Police and Firemen give new toys and clothes to underprivileged children and families in our area. Drop off unwrapped gifts at all our branches from the end of November through the week before Christmas.
Velocity Community Credit Union is pleased to support Quantum House in its efforts to lessen the burden for families whose children are receiving treatment in Palm Beach County for a serious medical condition.
Velocity Community supports Quantum House through donations, volunteering, and participating in their events. We believe that by supporting Quantum House and its efforts, we are helping the entire community.
We hope that you will join us in supporting this dedicated support group in its efforts to develop a caring and supportive home for families in need.
On October 21st, 2021, we had the best time putting some extra TLC in our care packages for Forgotten Soldiers Outreach! We stuffed these packages with snacks, personal hygiene items, notes, and all sorts of goodies. Our hope is that soldiers who receive these packages will be encouraged and reminded that we are thankful for all that they do!

In July 2020, every time a member swiped their VISA credit card, we donated 1% of each purchase up to $2,500 to the Palm Beach County Food Bank. Plus, our card servicer, PSCU, matched our contribution. As a result, we were able to donate $5,000 to this great nonprofit. Thank you to everyone who shopped local!
Jupiter High School
When the athletic boosters club at Jupiter Community High School approached us about becoming a major sponsor of their new stadium, we were excited by the opportunity to become more involved in the area. Our Jupiter branch had just opened, and the stadium seemed like a great partnership – and it truly has been! We are grateful for how open and welcoming the Jupiter High School community has been to us. From inviting us to sporting events to participating in their College Fair, the staff, students, and parents have been awesome. We love working with the students from DECA and look forward to watching them grow and succeed over the next few years.
Back to School Bash
A fabulous team of Velocity Community employees, their families, and Board Members helped underprivileged kids from the community prepare for the new school year by distributing free school supplies and backpacks at Palm Beach County’s Back to School Bash. This annual event is always a huge success! Kids love picking out exactly what they want, leaving them prepared, and looking forward to starting a new school year! A special thank you goes out to all the volunteers and donors who were kind, hardworking, and dedicated to making a difference. The Back to School Bash is the event that gives back!
Live Like Jake 5k
Our Velocity Community team once again participated in the Annual Live Like Jake 5K Walk/Run virtually. The funds raised are used for self-rescue swim lessons, to financially assist families who lost a loved one, and families who have a child with critical care needs.
Velocity Community partnered with OneBlood to host the Big Red Bus on August 24, 2021. Our staff and members donated throughout the day in support of OneBlood, who provides safe, available, and affordable blood to more than 200 hospital partners and their patients.
